Job Description

Are you experienced in providing positive behavior support or someone with a qualification in a relevant discipline (e.g. Psychology, Speech Pathology, Occupational Therapy or Social Work) who is keen to develop skills in delivering positive behaviour support?

Do you want to be part of a dynamic and high quality clinical team providing support to people with a disability, their families, and support staff with evidence-based approaches to reduce the impact of challenging behaviour and improve overall quality of life?

The Role:

You will have responsibility for all components of behaviour support delivery including completing Functional Behaviour Assessments and developing evidence-based behaviour support plans. You will work as part of a team to meet output targets whilst ensuring best practice and excellent stakeholder relationships.

About You:

You will have experience in delivering behaviour support services or have a strong desire to develop your knowledge and skills in this area. You will have a strong understanding of good clinical practice and knowledge of the NDIS Quality and Safeguarding Commission and restrictive practices would be desirable. In addition, and in line with our company values, you will be able to build strong and trusted relationships with participants, staff and other stakeholders to achieve optimum outcomes.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in: Psychology, Speech Pathology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy or similar areas of Social and Behavioural Sciences or a minimum of 5 years working as a Behaviour Support Practitioner.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience in developing and delivering training would be desirable.
  • Demonstrated organisation and time management skills to effectively manage a busy workload, maintain case notes and meet deadlines.
  • Sound problem solving skills and the ability to work in a flexible environment that at times involves innovative and responsive approaches.
  • High level of interpersonal skills including the ability to develop and maintain relationships within a team, with participants, across service providers, and with various stakeholders.
  • Current Australian drivers licence.
  • NDIS Worker Screening.
  • Working with Children check.
